If you set out to make a new-to-you recipe from all 226 of
your cookbooks in a single year, you’re bound to have some that don’t make the
keeper cut. These Buffalo Turkey Burgers from “Rachael Ray 365: No Repeats”
fall into that category.
They weren’t horrible, they were just OK. The turkey burgers
themselves are a trifle bland despite the green onions, garlic and grill
seasoning, and the hot sauce in butter didn’t really kick in enough heat to
compensate. But at least it was a fast week-night supper. And the blue cheese
dressing that spilled out of the burger was a tasty dip for the sweet potato
fries we had on the side.
But then tonight I joined friends for a girls night out at King's Wine Bar, where a friend brought cookbooks as door prizes since she's cleaning out some redundancy. She's clearly smarter than I am on that front. But how could I say no to a cookbook that has a recipe for pickled dried apricots with crystallized ginger and white wine? Or a bread book that refers to Day 4 of the project? Make that 228 cookbooks. Onward and upward.
